Singlets use a four-way stretch spandex-polyester blend that stretches and recovers in every direction, which supports a full range of grappling motion and holds a compression fit through repeated use. A singlet cut from a lower-grade fabric will sag and lose its compression fit within a season, the same failure mode as poor-quality spandex in any compression garment.
